Clark County Criminal Docket Searches
Figure out which court owns the case before you run a broad name search. The Clark County Superior Court and the Clark County Clerk hold felony files. Misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors go to Clark County District Court. That includes DUI and other traffic crimes. A municipal court may hold a city-ordinance case. Check the issuing paper, the full case number, or the state court directory. That settles the question and avoids false matches.
The Washington Courts Case Search works well as an index. It covers case, person, attorney, and limited-jurisdiction court-date searches. Its own notice says data generally update within 24 hours and may be incomplete or wrong. It does not supply filed documents or a certified result. Treat it as a way to find the court and case number. Then verify the Clark County criminal docket with the court that owns the file.
- Select Superior, District, or the named municipal court.
- Search the full case number when known; otherwise narrow a name query by court.
- For Superior Court, open the matching summary in Odyssey and check the county code.
- Compare the next setting with the county daily calendar or court-date tool.
- Ask the Clark County Clerk or District Court for the needed copy.
Clark County Felonies in Odyssey
Washington builds Superior criminal numbers from the year and case type. It adds a sequence and a county code. Take 23-1-01234-06: the third segment marks a criminal case, and 06 marks Clark County. The number routes a file. It proves neither a charge nor an outcome. Legacy formats and restricted cases can look different. Confirm a live number with the Clerk. The Odyssey Portal page presents Smart Search and the Superior records it makes available.

Odyssey may show anonymous case information, while documents can require authorization or an account role. A listed document that will not open has not vanished from the court file. Ask the Clerk about the lawful copy route.
Criminal Dockets: What They Show
Entries run in order on a Clark County criminal court docket. You may see the charging paper filed, later settings, motions, appearances, a plea, judgment, monetary obligations, and closure. A charge is only an allegation. A calendar label proves neither that the event occurred.
| Case number | Links events to the correct court file; Superior numbers usually carry segment 1 and Clark code 06. |
|---|---|
| Charge | Lists the filed allegation and may cite an offense, but does not establish conviction. |
| Setting | Gives a planned date, time, room, docket type, and department that can change. |
| Register entry | Records a filing, order, hearing, or status event in sequence. |
| Disposition | Reports an outcome; verify it against the judgment, dismissal, or operative order. |
Access limits often apply to financial entries, probation material, police reports, and presentence information. Never infer protected facts from a generic entry or a sealed notation.
Clark County Criminal Calendar Labels
Labels on the Superior daily schedule include first appearance, arraignment, and pretrial case management. The same list covers motion, change of plea, jury trial, deliberations, and sentencing. Each phrase names work set for that day. Read them with care. A change-of-plea setting is not the plea result. A jury-trial listing does not prove testimony began or a verdict followed. The official Clark County criminal docket page shows the daily schedule fields in full.

Match a setting with the date, room, time, docket type, and judge fields. The register, minute entry, or signed order tells you what actually happened. Calendars can change after a screen is saved.
Criminal Case Stages on the Docket
A Clark County criminal docket often follows a familiar path, though not every case uses every step. A filed charge comes first. An initial appearance or arraignment follows. Pretrial settings manage motions and later dates, and then a plea or trial may resolve the charge. A judgment or dismissal records the disposition. Sentencing may occur with a plea or at a later hearing.
Docket flow: Filing › Arraignment › Pretrial › Plea or Trial › Disposition › Sentencing
Continued means the matter moved to another date. Vacated depends on context, and may point to a canceled setting or an order set aside. Read Dismissed with the order itself, including whether it was with or without prejudice.
Clark County Misdemeanor Dockets
Clark County District Court names its misdemeanor and gross-misdemeanor work. The list includes DUI, driving while suspended, failure to register, no valid license, and negligent driving. Municipal courts hear city offenses. Some city work is routed through District Court. The city named in an event does not alone identify the office that keeps the file. The District daily docket runs alphabetically with date, time, judge, location, and meeting information, and the public may call 564-397-2424 or use the counter. Bring warrant questions to District Court's official channels too. Guesses drawn from an old docket will not answer them. The county's docket page also shows the lower-court setting fields used for Clark County criminal dockets.

Meeting details for authorized participants should not be republished as a public access credential.
Clark County Criminal Docket Courts
Clark County Superior Court hears felony prosecutions and reviews qualifying District appeals. District Court handles limited-jurisdiction crimes. Municipal courts hear city-code matters, though contracts can route work elsewhere. Battle Ground also serves published La Center and Ridgefield routing. Camas and Washougal share a municipal court.
| Court | Docket | First access point |
|---|---|---|
| Superior | Felonies | State index, Odyssey, Clerk, daily schedule |
| District | Misdemeanors and traffic crimes | State search, daily docket, phone, counter |
| Municipal | City-ordinance cases | Named clerk or contracted court |
If a District judgment is appealed, track the trial number and the new Superior appeal number separately. The appeal does not replace the lower-court register.
Clark County Criminal Verification
Need written proof of a Clark County criminal conviction? The Clark County Clerk access page describes a mail-only verification. It covers convictions from 1979 to the present. The fee is $5 per person. Older searches may add a $30 research fee. Your request should include a full name and a date of birth or other identifier. Add the approximate offense date, the possible charge, payment, and a stamped return envelope.
A verification is not a docket. It is not a certified judgment or a statewide history either. For a Superior Court copy, call the Clerk Criminal Department at 564-397-2295 or follow the posted copy instructions. The Washington State Patrol runs the separate statewide criminal-history product. Check the live Clerk instructions before mailing payment. Forms, payment methods, and posted fees can change.
Missing Clark County Criminal Cases
A blank result proves nothing. Clark County criminal cases hide for ordinary reasons. Maybe the query used the wrong court, a misspelled name, or the wrong date range. New filings can lag the state update. Some legacy records never entered Odyssey. A restricted matter may return almost nothing online.
Save the court and case number from any sound notice. Run the state index with a narrow court filter, then use Odyssey for Superior Court or contact District Court. A stubborn Superior file deserves a direct ask: give the Clerk names, an approximate date, the case type, and any known number. Public OnBase terminals and a copy request can reach material a portal will not display.
Best next step: Ask the custodian whether the file is restricted, stored in a legacy system, newly entered, or held by another Clark County court.
Access Rules for Criminal Dockets
Washington General Rule 31 opens with a presumption of public access to court records, subject to laws, court rules, and orders. Limits can cover presentence reports, probation correspondence, witness statements, police reports not made public in the court file, and history data. Juvenile offender information never shows on a public website. A lawful clerk route may still exist.
General Rule 15 governs sealing and redaction. A case can stay partly visible while one document is hidden. Administrative records travel a different route. They use GR 31.1, not the case-copy path.
Access boundary: A Clark County criminal docket may show a date, generic title, or sealed notation while withholding the document. The court identifies the lawful route.
Clark County docket access comes in many forms. Use the state index, Odyssey, county calendars, a Clerk terminal, the Superior Clerk or District counter, direct phone help, mailed verification, published copy-request routes, or a municipal clerk. Federal crimes are different. They sit with the Western District of Washington and PACER.
