Vancouver Court Docket Searches
Vancouver records live behind three separate doors, and picking the right one saves time. Parking starts with Vancouver Parking Services. That is where a Vancouver citation gets paid or appealed. Anything bigger, such as a traffic infraction or a misdemeanor, runs through Clark County District Court. A felony, a civil dispute, a probate file, or a domestic matter belongs to Clark County Superior Court. The Clark County Clerk holds those case files. Before you run a name search on any Vancouver docket, check which court the name is actually in. Searching the wrong one turns up nothing.
- Identify parking services, District Court, or Superior Court from the notice.
- Use a full citation or case number before trying a broader name query.
- For parking, search the City of Vancouver portal by citation number or vehicle plate.
- For a court case, use Washington Case Search, then the correct county court channel.
- Confirm a hearing with the Vancouver court and request documents from its clerk.
For a fast Vancouver docket search, start with the Washington Courts Case Search. It can find court names and case numbers across the state. The tool itself warns that its data can lag. Some filings never appear, and it does not hand out certified documents. Treat an empty result as a reason to check with the court directly. It is not proof that no Vancouver court record exists.
Three Vancouver Record Doors
These three offices are not copies of one another. Each keeps a different slice of the record. Vancouver Parking Services tracks Vancouver parking citations and takes payments and appeals. When a parking appeal moves up, Clark County District Court holds the resulting Vancouver court file. That court also holds the other limited-jurisdiction matters sent its way. The Clark County Clerk, meanwhile, keeps the Superior Court case files. So a Vancouver case lookup has to aim at the office that actually received the filing.
| Vancouver matter | Start here | What it supplies |
|---|---|---|
| City Vancouver parking citation | Vancouver Parking Services | Citation lookup, payment, appeal path |
| Traffic or misdemeanor case | Clark County District Court | Docket, hearing, lower-court record |
| Felony or Superior case | Clark County Clerk and Odyssey | Case summary, documents, certified copies |
Vancouver's public-records office covers city administrative records only. A Vancouver court file stays with the Clark County court system, even when the event happened inside city limits.
Inside the Vancouver Municipal Court
One quirk trips up a lot of people hunting a Vancouver court docket. The Washington Courts directory sends Vancouver municipal matters through Clark County District Court. There is no stand-alone city courthouse. So a citation written by Vancouver police can name District Court as the court of record. Knowing that saves you a dead end.
District Court makes the lookup easy once you land in the right place. A daily docket runs alongside counter service, records requests, and phone help at 564-397-2424. Each calendar line gives a name, date, time, judge, location, and meeting field. Remember the list is only a schedule, not a judgment. The court steers public observation toward attending in person. Meeting details may stay limited to authorized participants.
Vancouver Parking Search Fields
Vancouver treats parking tickets as a city matter with its own entry point. The Vancouver parking ticket page starts an online lookup. It accepts either a citation number or a vehicle license plate. Stick to your own identifier. Check the plate state too, where the form asks for it. A citation screen is narrower than a full court docket. It tracks only the City of Vancouver ticket and where its payment or appeal stands right now.
The official page shows the citation and plate fields exactly as the city presents them.

Prefer a human? The City of Vancouver also handles parking questions by phone and in person. If the ticket has already moved into Clark County District Court, follow the court named in your written hearing notice. At that point the city parking lookup stops being the right tool.
Finding Vancouver Court Dates
A Vancouver court date can surface in several places. Try the District daily docket, the state Find My Court Date tool, the Superior daily schedule, the Odyssey hearing search, or the local Where's My Case screen. Match the source to the court named on your paperwork. Calendars shift often, with settings revised, continued, or removed. For a hearing coming up soon, confirm the details with court staff.
| Date | The scheduled day, which can move after a notice is issued. |
|---|---|
| Time | The docket-call or case time; arrive or connect as the Vancouver court directs. |
| Location | The Vancouver court building, room, or approved appearance method. |
| Judicial officer | The judge or commissioner assigned to that setting. |
| Setting type | Arraignment, pretrial, motion, trial, sentencing, or another calendar function. |
A listed trial date is just a schedule. For what actually happened in Clark County court, pull the register of actions, a minute entry, an order, or the judgment.
Vancouver Parking Appeal Handoff
A parking ticket written in Vancouver starts its appeal with the City of Vancouver. The city handles the paperwork only up to a point. Clark County District Court takes over next. It mails out the written hearing details and answers questions from then on. You can hand in the form three ways. Choose in person, by mail, or the electronic option the city lists. A phone call or regular email will not work as an appeal.
Fill the form out completely. It wants the infraction number, your plate and its state, your contact information, and a mailing address. Your reason for appealing matters too. So does anything that backs you up. Add a Parking Kitty receipt if one applies. Keep private details off any public post: no live citation, plate, phone number, or address. When the court notice arrives, work through that case number and court channel for the Vancouver court record.
Routing rule: Payment status stays with the City of Vancouver until the process shifts. Hearing status belongs with District Court once its written notice issues.
Vancouver Traffic Ticket Lookups
Moving violations are a different animal from parking. A speeding case, a DUI allegation, or most other traffic matters lands in Clark County District Court. The citation itself tells you where to respond. Read the court box on your Vancouver ticket. To look it up, run the case number through the state system. Check the District daily docket for a hearing. You can also call the court if the ticket went missing.
City parking follows its own clock. Vancouver gives you 30 days to pay or appeal. Card payments carry a 2.65 percent fee. Confirm those terms on the live city page first, since they can shift. A ticket in collections may need a different route. Call the City of Vancouver or whichever court the newest notice names. For the full breakdown across the county, see the Clark County Traffic Court page.
Vancouver City Hall Record Boundary
Vancouver City Hall serves the city, but it is not the Clark County court clerk. Its 415 W. 6th Street counter handles parking payments. A drop box works too. It is one of several listed ways to pay. Pleadings and judgments are different. Those live with the District Court or Superior Court clerk. The city's visitor page describes the service door at City Hall in more detail.

Know which record you actually need before you file a public-record request with the city. A Vancouver parking administration file or city policy memo is one thing. A court docket, a signed order, a case exhibit, or an audio recording sits somewhere else entirely, so sorting that out first saves a wasted trip.
How Vancouver Cases Reach the County
Where a Vancouver case lands depends on its subject and on which court has authority. District Court handles traffic infractions and traffic crimes. Misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors land there too. It also takes small claims and civil matters under its statutory limit. Felonies belong to Superior Court. So does a wide sweep of general-jurisdiction work: civil, domestic, probate, adoption, and juvenile cases. An appeal can add a second docket at the higher court.
Docket flow: Vancouver city service or violation › Clark County District Court › Clark County Superior Court
Treat this flow as a routing model. Not every case hits all three stages. A parking ticket can end the moment the city gets paid. A felony starts in the Superior system. An appeal keeps its lower-court number while picking up a new one upstairs. For county-level search channels, turn to the Clark County court docket overview.
Vancouver District Court Moved
Clark County District Court moved to 210 E. 13th Street in Vancouver in February 2026. Note that address well. The Superior Court and the Clark County Clerk stay at 1200 Franklin Street. That is a different counter in a different place. A stale address buried in an old search result can send a visitor to the wrong window. The official District Court relocation notice lays out the new site and the public-counter change.

Call ahead to confirm the District Court's current address and hours before you show up to request records. Superior Court copies remain a job for the Clerk, and the relocated District counter will not handle them.
Vancouver Court Record Workload
Vancouver is the county seat and the biggest city in Clark County. The 2020 Census put 190,915 residents within its limits. By 2025, the Washington Office of Financial Management estimated the population at about 205,100. A city that size supports several places to request court records, but population alone never tells you which court docket holds the file you want.
A filing count measures workload, nothing more. It is not a tally of distinct people, convictions, or open cases, so keep the report year and table heading handy whenever you cite the figure.
Who Can See Vancouver Court Records
Washington General Rule 31 opens the door to court records. Still, law, rule, and court order can each narrow that access. General Rule 15 controls sealing and redaction. Family, protection, and guardianship files get extra handling under GR 22. Juvenile records stay largely off-limits online.
Access path: Use the public calendar or index to locate a Vancouver record, then ask the responsible city service, District Court, or Superior Clerk for the actual public document.
Vancouver court records reach the public through several doors. The city's parking matters run through several routes. A driver can use the parking portal, phone, the counter, mail, a drop box, or an approved appeal submission. District Court takes a broader route. It offers a state index, a daily docket, phone and counter service, email, mail, and a formal records request. The Clerk rounds things out with Odyssey search, a public terminal, counter help, mail, fax, email, plain copies, and certified copies. For administrative records, use the agency's own formal process instead of a case-copy form.
A Vancouver docket open to the public can still hold back protected text. Yet it shows that a filing exists. A blank web result is not proof of nothing. It may point to the wrong court, an update lag, a legacy system, or a lawful restriction. Ask the custodian for the proper access route. Never infer hidden facts from what a docket leaves out.
