Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results under its own practices. Clark County Court Docket does not retain or record those search terms on its systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept as needed to read and answer it. The message is not voluntarily disclosed outside our organization, although it may be produced when a valid legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the website's servers may receive routine technical and usage information, including:
- The device's internet protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services can show aggregated patterns, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. A browser can be configured to reject cookies. Blocking them may cause some website functions to operate differently.
What We Do With This Data
Information described above may be used for these purposes:
- Operating the website and maintaining acceptable load times
- Routing a search submission to the appropriate partner tool
- Measuring which material visitors use and where revisions may help
- Finding, diagnosing, and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Clark County Court Docket does not host, maintain, assemble, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general directions to records held by the Clark County Clerk, Clark County Superior Court, Clark County District Court, municipal courts, and Washington Courts Case Search. Court records are governed by Washington court rules, including GR 31 for case-record access, GR 31.1 for administrative records, GR 15 for sealing and redaction, and GR 22 for protected family-law material. Washington's Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, does not turn this private website into a government records custodian. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is handled under that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices. Visitors should review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Clark County Clerk, Washington trial-court portals, statewide case-search services, legal-aid organizations, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Its terms should be read before personal information is supplied.
Advertising providers may use their own technologies to follow activity across websites and select targeted advertisements. Such tracking occurs through their systems, not a court-record database maintained here.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by:
- A search partner processing a query submitted to its tool
- Analytics providers measuring visits and technical performance
- Advertising networks placing advertisements on the website
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, generally accepted security measures are used to protect information collected through the website. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however. Measures are taken to reduce risk, but a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out completely.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection rights may vary with a visitor's residence and the law governing a particular request. Washington's Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, governs qualifying records held by public agencies, while court case and administrative records follow GR 31 and GR 31.1. Those authorities do not themselves create rights to visitor data held by a private website. Subject to applicable law and available records, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of personal information we retain about that visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask that retained personal information be deleted
- Object to or opt out of processing where applicable law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices, services, or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here and identified by its new effective date. Visitors should review the current version to understand how information is handled.
Effective date: September 7, 2026
